I just got Windows 7 installed on my laptop, and I have to say, it's so much better than vista. For one, the quick launch is gone, and is replaced by the spiffier taskbar.

Which, I might add, does more than quick launch. Let's say I have more than one thing in Windows Explorer. I just right click on the icon-

And there we go! I pin the stuff I use most in explorer to the icon, and I can access any one of them easily!
I, personally use google chrome, but let's say you use internet explorer, and open up two tabs.

and then I go to my taskbar and mouse over internet explorer:

and I can see both tabs! Best of all, from here, I can exit whichever tab I want! (it doesn't do this for chrome, unfortunatley...)
You can also have your desktop background be a slideshow that changes every so often, and make your own themes:

The ones on the top I made, and the rest came with the computer. You can see, at the bottom left corner (if you look carefully) something that says Desktop Background and Slide show. When I click on that:

Nice, right? You can change pictures every so often (between 10 seconds and one day), and choose what pics to change between.
Next, the sidebar. It's pretty good, but it's a bit different from the vista sidebar. A lot of the gadgets on the website aren't optimized for the windows 7 sidebar, so if you want all the other gadgets, you're gonna have to live with some mismatchedness.
(the one I circled was made specially for vista, so it looks a bit off).
Windows Explorer itself is also a lot more better looking:
as you can see, it's a lot simpler than XP and Vista.
Also, on the taskbar, there's a little button, and if you mouse over it, it'll show you your desktop.

Cool, right?
